Hi There! I have worked with individuals experiencing a variety of issues including family conflict, depression and anxiety, stress-related issues, communication challenges, self-esteem, and many more.
My focus has been on helping people cope with trauma, physical, sexual or emotional. I graduated from Texas Tech in 2015 with my master's in Community Mental Health Counseling.
As a licensed professional counselor, I believe your mental health matters. I help clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, confused, or unlike themselves. I work with adults, teens, and families navigating worry, sadness, stress, and the challenges that come with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
Hi! My name is Monica McKee. I’m a passionate LMFT dedicated to helping couples, individuals, and first responder families navigate life’s challenges, heal from past wounds, and strengthen their relationships. Whether you're navigating relationship challenges, working through trauma, or seeking greater self-understanding, I’m here to walk alongside you with compassion and care.
I’ve been married for 25 years and understand that relationships can bring both joy and struggle. This personal experience, combined with my clinical training, allows me to approach couples work with empathy and practical insight. As the spouse of a first responder, I also have a deep appreciation for the unique stressors first responder families face and am honored to support them in therapy. I speak conversational Spanish and enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
I specialize in helping couples and families reconnect and heal through an attachment-based approach, exploring how early relationships influence the ways we love, trust, and communicate. I’m trained in EMDR and I'm a Gottman Method Couples Level 2 practitioner, an evidence-based approach that helps couples improve communication, deepen emotional connection, and rebuild trust.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2010, and my Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University in 2023, with a focus on trauma.
I provide supportive therapy to adults and adolescents who are struggling with complex trauma, depression, anxiety, codependency, OCD and relationship issues. I work to help you evaluate what thought patterns, core beliefs, and behaviors are no longer serving you and to develop tools to self-soothe, affirm yourself, set boundaries, enhance authenticity and communicate effectively.
You might feel emotionally overwhelmed, exhausted, or like your thoughts are all over the place, especially when past experiences or stress keep showing up in your daily life. It can be hard to explain what you’re feeling, and even harder to carry it alone. You don’t have to do this alone. I offer a supportive space where you can begin to make sense of your emotions, feel understood, and start moving toward greater clarity, relief, and emotional balance.
