Hello, thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my practice. My professional background includes being a Special Education teacher for close to 15years, a school counselor for 5 years, working with foster children for 1 year, worked as an intake counselor in a psychiatric hospital for one year and then opened my private practice about 4 years ago. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience, both personally and professionally. I specialize in adolescents and adults, offering a multitude of modalities to help us accomplish your goals.
Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Stephanie, a National Board-Certified Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. I’ve had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, self-harm, suicidal ideation, ADHD, grief, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. I specialize in supporting survivors of abuse, neglect, and domestic violence through trauma-informed, compassionate care. I also provide affirming support for LGBTQ+ individuals and those facing life transitions, low self-esteem, and academic or career stress.
I’ve been where you are. As someone in long-term recovery, I understand the challenges firsthand and bring both empathy and 15 years of professional counseling experience to support you in finding your own path and developing your strengths. I work with adolescents, people struggling with substance use, and those facing anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma.
I specialize in working with individuals in recovery and LGBTQ+ clients, helping you build resilience, explore your goals, and discover practical strategies that fit your life.
My approach is collaborative and empowering—you set the pace, and I walk alongside you with understanding, guidance, and support as you create meaningful change and uncover the strengths you already have within.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with couples, individuals, teens, children. I have always wanted to be a therapist and love what I do. I take great pride in walking along side people in their therapeutic journey.
It is no longer acceptable to suffer in silence. Regardless of your age, your friends, your family and what your peers may say, asking for help takes a lot more courage than suffering in silence. There is no shame in taking control of your life and making the courageous decision to want and expect more joy and peace in your life. I believe in empowering individuals to take inventory and control of their lives. Things can always be better and it is up to you to determine when, where and what that looks like. It is my joy and responsibility to help bring about the ‘how.'
I am passionate about helping adolescents, individuals, couples and families find their inner strengths to bring about the change they want in their lives through a wide variety of evidence-based theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and others.
The therapeutic process is an amazing journey of personal growth and insight. You are the captain of your ship. The beginning of your new journey can start today.
