Thanks for visiting my page, I am glad you are here. I’ve spent more than 15 years supporting individuals of all ages and families through life’s toughest and most meaningful transitions. I specialize in trauma, grief, maternal mental health, postpartum support, anxiety, and life challenges. As a long time school social worker, I also love working with teens, young adults, and parents navigating stress, anxiety, identity, impulse control, ADHD, and the emotional impact of today’s digital world—including screen use overwhelm.
A lot of the people I work with describe feeling like they’ve been “holding everything together” but falling through the cracks themselves. Whether you’re a new parent, a caregiver, a teenager struggling to find direction, or someone facing loss or major change—you don’t have to do this alone.
Compassionate therapist experienced with all age groups and diverse backgrounds. I am able to develop strong connections quickly. I have experience working with addictions and substance abuse. Active involvement in the community as a facilitator and advocate provides me with an awareness and knowledge for all challenges in life that impact mental health.
I believe in a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. When working with patients, I start by listening carefully to their concerns and goals. Together, we will create a treatment plan that may include therapy, medication, or lifestyle strategies tailored to individual needs. I emphasize open communication, respect, and education so patients feel informed and empowered in their mental health journey.
(More info at: www.moazenmd.expert) I’m a psychiatrist and trauma therapist experienced in EMDR, AEDP, PE, interpersonal psychodynamic therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. I’m also faculty at Mount Sinai Hospital, where I teach psychiatry residents and previously served as a Physician-Scientist Chief Resident. My clinical work includes treating trauma, OCD, tics, generalized anxiety, and anxiety related to physical symptoms, often alongside attention and executive-function difficulties.
I’ve trained at several leading centers for trauma care and LGBTQ+ mental health, including Mount Sinai’s Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS), the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD), the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania (CTSA), and the William Alanson White Institute.
I am interested in creating a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy. I have over 20 years of experience working with couples, adolescents and youth. I take great care to ensure that my clients develop the tools they need to not only feel better but to thrive both personally and in relationships. I am passionate about building meaningful connections with clients by creating a foundation of kindness and trust.
