I'm a therapist, yoga teacher, mindfulness teacher, and somatic bodyworker. I help people restore a mind-body connection to increase resilience, health, and wellbeing. I graduated from Smith College School for Social Work in 2016. I am also a Trauma Release Exercise Provider.
My journey stems from my own story of resilience in the face of hardships. I became a therapist because I have always wanted to help people through some of their darkest hours. Being exposed to some dark hours myself, I know that it is difficult to do it alone. When you have someone to confide in, assist you through the hard times, and just let you know that you are not alone, makes a difference.
My therapeutic approach includes CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Relational Therapy, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, SFT, EMT, Gestalt, and just speaking like a human being. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed space where you can feel safe, seen, and supported. My approach is relational and personalized—we'll explore your story together, build coping tools, and move toward healing with curiosity, courage, and care.
Therapy with me is real, down-to-earth, and never boring. I mix honesty, humor, and heart to make the process comfortable. I help adults manage emotions, build confidence, and tackle life's challenges with tools that work. Think of it as a safe space to be yourself, grow, and maybe laugh along the way.
Life is full of ups and downs, and I have learned from both personal and professional experience that 'suffering in silence' is not really sustainable or healthy for anyone. You deserve to feel heard and to function at your best level. I have 6 years' experience post-graduation from the University of Texas with helping folks do just that. From nonprofits, to medical clinics, to correctional facilities, to teletherapy, I have connected deeply and partnered with many clients and families to trudge through some of their darkest hours and find more validation, calmness, and acceptance. My fluency in Spanish has given me opportunities to break down walls and connect with hundreds of clients whose cultural background is different than mine. I would be honored to have the chance to see if working together is a good fit for your healing journey.
I bring a calm, steady, and thoughtful presence to the work. Clients often describe me as warm, gently humorous, and intellectually grounded. My practice is shaped by the teachings and wisdom of the Catholic faith, especially its understanding of the human person as a unity of body and soul, created for meaning and made for eternity. I find that many people of faith or traditional backgrounds want a therapist who respects those commitments and won’t dismiss or pathologize them.
I work especially well with anxiety, scrupulosity, family strain, and questions that sit at the crossroads of faith and daily life. I’m not drawn to trends or spiritual fads — I prefer a more timeless, human approach to healing — but clients of any or no religious background are also welcome. Above all, I want you to have a therapeutic space where you feel understood, respected, and able to explore the deeper parts of your story without pressure.
I am an experienced therapist helping individual clients cope with addictions, trauma, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. I also work with couples on common struggles such as conflict resolution, lack of connection, and reduced physical intimacy. I use evidence-based methods enabling clients to achieve their desired goals.

Hi, I’m Stephane Carvalho, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts. Originally trained as a psychologist in Brazil, I now work with individuals, couples, and families to help them build stronger, more connected relationships.
Whether you’re navigating conflict, communication challenges, anxiety, or the desire to reconnect with yourself, therapy can be a space to understand your emotional patterns and create change that lasts.
As an immigrant therapist, I deeply understand what it means to navigate life between cultures — finding belonging while holding on to your roots. That perspective shapes the way I support clients from diverse backgrounds, always honoring their stories, identities, and values.
I am a clinical social worker practicing a variety of modalities with years of national and international experience. My main practices trauma treatment, CBT, CBT for Insomnia, mindfulness and meditation, adolescent work, post partum mental health disorders. I am also trained in play therapy, radical exposure therapy and nutritional psychology. I enjoy my work and helping people feel connected, insightful into their own life and look at new opportunities for growth and change.
