I work with adults and the occasional adolescent to reconnect with their bodies and emotions in order to develop insight and grow.
I studied clinical mental health counseling at Sam Houston State University, and have received further training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and expressive arts therapy.
I was born and raised in San Antonio and proudly served in the U.S. Army, where I developed a strong sense of discipline, resilience, and a deep commitment to serving others. As a Veteran, I bring a unique perspective and a nuanced understanding of military culture to my counseling work.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending weekends with my family—especially cheering on my son at his baseball games. These moments remind me of the importance of connection, joy, and presence, all of which I strive to bring into the counseling process.
I became a counselor to be a steady, grounded presence for those on the path of healing. My approach centers on fostering growth, resilience, and inner peace. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and provide specialized support for individuals navigating trauma, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Hi! My name is Heather Comer. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who values connection and relationships. I obtained my degree from the University of Houston in 2018 and continue to learn and develop new skills in an effort to enhance client's experiences in therapy.
I incorporate evidenced-based modalities for treatment, with a splash of humor - because laughter is also healing.
