I am from Charlotte, NC where I was born and raised. To say that my childhood had it's challenges was an understatement. It was through overcoming those challenges that I discovered my heart for helping women heal. I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2011 having studied Psychology. I fell in love with the mountains and working with female survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This spurred me onward to complete my Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015. I have been a licensed therapist since 2016 and recently transitioned into private practice. I have a 3.5 year old son and we live happily in Weaverville, NC where we regularly hike, swim, and take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains that we are lucky to call home.
I see therapy as a collaborative process and invite clients to take an active role in their treatment. I focus on managing symptoms, facilitating empowerment, and building confidence as well as teaching the tools necessary to allow clients to be their personal best and create an overall sense of well-being. My integrated approach brings clarity, direction, and positive support to my clients. I love helping others believe and realize what’s possible.
Open minded clinician with over 15 years of experience. I meet each client where they are and work with them to come up and out of dysfunction. I believe in speaking to whatever part of life you will allow me. I am very honest and will not sugar coat while you feel warmth and love from my delivery.
Better tomorrows are ahead with a guide willing to help along the way. Brett has been helping clients reach better tomorrows for more than a decade. His primary areas of focus have been couples issues, substance use, anger management, trauma, anxiety, depression, and general every day stress. No problem is too big that we cannot come to solutions, together.
My priority is helping you reach your goals. To that end, I often use a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Narrative therapies, primarily, to help you reach those goals.
As a whole, my approach is positive and looks to help you build in a healthy way. My job is to listen and help you get to a healthier place in your life. Let me be your guide and see how life can be.
