Our life experiences affect all of us in unique ways. Many people struggle to integrate what has happened to them in a way that allows them to feel comfortable in their own bodies and have meaningful relationships with others. If you feel stuck with overwhelming emotions or unhelpful patterns, we can work together to get you unstuck.
Whether you are dealing with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, couples issues, or addiction; I can help. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience helping people. Hi, I’m Pasqual D’Onofrio, a licensed mental health counselor with over a decade of experience helping adults move through anxiety, burnout, and relationship distress.
My approach blends practical tools with reflective, emotionally attuned therapy. Whether you are navigating stress, uncertainty, or painful communication patterns, our work creates space to understand what is happening beneath the surface, and how to shift it. I offer a supportive, focused environment where you will not be
rushed, or expected to have it all figured out.
I work exclusively via telehealth with clients throughout New York State. Therapy with me will feel like finally being able to name what you have been carrying and learning how to meet it with clarity, curiosity, and care. If you are ready to begin from where you are, I’d be honored to support you.
Hello! Ari here.
I'm here to help you become the best version of yourself. We'll work together to help you identify roadblocks and support you through whatever you're struggling with.
As someone who has undergone her own adversities, I can sincerely say that I know how elusive achieving change and growth can be, but I also know that change is possible. Navigating through the difficulties and stressors that life inevitably brings us can be challenging and difficult to do alone, which is why I am a firm believer that healing begins the moment we feel heard. I have worked in mental health clinics, inpatient psychiatric settings and group practice settings, but have found that I excel in private practice where I have the ability to offer one on one, individualized psychotherapy.
I started my work with infants and young children, guided by a simple belief: when we understand the meaning behind behavior, everything in a family can begin to shift. I use play as a primary way to connect with children and understand their inner world. Through play, children express thoughts and feelings they may not yet have words for. By joining them in this space, I’m able to better understand their experiences and help them feel seen, supported, and safe.
My path to becoming a therapist began in children’s media, where I spent fifteen years project managing educational content. That experience shaped how I see children today—curious, expressive, and constantly communicating, even without words.
I went on to earn my Master’s degree from New York University, training at the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Center, where I deepened my understanding of how music and play can help children feel seen, regulated, and understood.
My clinical work has included early intervention, a specialized school for autistic children and young adults, and an elementary school supporting students with hearing loss and communication differences. Across these settings, I saw how powerful it is when a child is truly met where they are.
In 2023, I founded Sound Mind to create a more individualized, relationship-based practice—one where I can connect deeply and tailor my work to each child and family.
