It has been a privilege to walk along side others managing more complex psychological issues and trauma or just helping them talk things out. I am currently offering telehealth services to adolescents (ages 11 and up) and adults. I also work with couples, parents, and families.
My doctoral training and experience in the field for over 20 years allow me to work with a wide range of issues. I have worked in different capacities and settings including as an adjunct professor, supervisor of therapy/ testing, and a psychotherapist in hospitals, universities, and a military behavioral health clinic. I have extensive experience treating depression and anxiety, grief/ loss, relationship concerns, trauma, OCD, chronic health issues, infertility, adjustment/ self-esteem problems in children/ adults, substance use issues, and personal growth.
My goal is to blend evidence based treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and meditation with a warm, caring style. I like to take a holistic approach focusing all aspects of psychological, physical, and spiritual health. I offer culturally competent therapy- welcoming anyone regardless of sexual orientation, ethnicity, and religion. Together we can identify innate strengths and build coping skills to foster long-term wellness and resilience.
I am warm, open-minded, compassionate, and I believe in challenging my clients. I use the first session to gain an understanding of their perspectives and needs. At the conclusion, we will discuss goals for treatment and what the path will look like. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all solution in therapy; I draw from many methods and techniques, including both evidence-based and holistic methods.
I am a New York state licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. from Columbia University who brings over a decade of experience from adult psychiatric emergency, inpatient, outpatient, women’s health, forensic, sub-acute rehabilitation and counseling center settings. I offer individual psychotherapy and work primarily with adults or elderly adults who are navigating depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, trauma, grief and loss, as well as racial-cultural, identity and immigrant concerns. Starting your mental health journey is a significant and courageous decision that can bring up feelings of fear as well as uncertainty. Sometimes the hardest part is taking the first step, this could be yours! My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you feel safe, accepted, understood and empowered to explore life’s challenges at your own pace.

Hello, and welcome. I’m truly glad you’re here and taking this meaningful step toward healing and growth. Life is a journey—while there are moments we can walk alone, there are also times when we benefit from having someone beside us to provide support, perspective, and encouragement. As your culturally competent therapist, I’m here to walk alongside you and help you move toward a more joyful, fulfilling, and empowered life.
I’ve been working with women, children and families for over 15 years in individual counseling, group settings, and program development. My expertise lies in helping people understand their own emotional experience, to use words not violence, to cope, to reduce impulsive and compulsive behavior, to advocate for themselves.
I believe to live fully, we must feel. Intensely. Viscerally. Freely. To feel pride and pain, joy and frustration. To taste the freedoms of life, as well as its restraints. To reconcile thoughts, actions and emotions that are often at odds. To square all of this with culture, beliefs, and history. To live fully is when a sense of equity, equality and balance is awakened. To live fully is to gain perspective and know that you can weather all of it, and not be overcome by these complexities, but learn to integrate them, for a full life.
I believe meaningful healing begins when individuals feel seen, heard, and understood. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, I bring over four years of clinical counseling experience, along with more than twenty-two years as a school psychologist, to support children, individuals, and families.
With more than two decades in education, I became deeply aware of how essential mental health support is for children and families. I witnessed firsthand how emotional challenges can affect learning, relationships, and overall well-being—and how transformative the right support can be.
These experiences led me to pursue a career in mental health counseling. Today, I partner with adults to help them build a strong, grounded foundation for themselves, one that naturally extends to their children and strengthens the family as a whole. I also remain committed to supporting teens as they enter adulthood, helping them develop the tools and confidence needed for lifelong well-being.
