Hello, my name is Shonda Phillips-Young. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Supervisor. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me better. I am excited to invite you to embark on a transformative journey toward a more balanced and enriched life, where serenity and personal growth await. My passion is fostering a secure, supportive environment where you can express your thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment. Together, we will navigate your challenges and work diligently toward your aspirations. I am dedicated to empowering you throughout the therapeutic process, helping you uncover your inner strengths and resilience. I eagerly look forward to the possibility of joining you on this transformative path toward healing and growth.
I am a queer-identified African American cisgender woman. My pronouns are she/her. I hold a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling degree. I have over 12 years of experience effectively treating mental health and substance abuse concerns in LGBTQIA2S+ persons (sex positive; kink affirming), BIPOC and other PGM folx, and femme-identified persons.
I’m glad you’re here. A lot of my work focuses on your relationship with yourself and others, navigating anxiety and emotional overwhelm, while honoring the experiences and backgrounds that shape who you are. Therapy can be a safe space to make sense of what’s been weighing on you, get to know yourself more deeply, and feel seen in the process.
My business focuses on the treatment of clients who deal with sexual abuse, and other kinds of trauma. I can help because I am a survivor, and I understand how you feel. When you need to figure out how to put the pieces back in your life after abuse changes everything, we work together, to help you heal, rebuild your life and re-imagine who you are. I have been honored to work providing therapy to clients for more than 40 years. I hope to have the opportunity to help you feel whole again.
