With a strong foundation in both social work and law enforcement, I bring a compassionate, grounded, and practical perspective to therapy. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work and spent eight years in law enforcement, primarily working patrol. This experience gave me the opportunity to support individuals and families during some of the most challenging and vulnerable moments of their lives.

Hi, I’m Sheila Taratuta, a licensed therapist (LPC in Colorado, LMHC in Florida) born and raised in Miami with Argentine roots. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, and a masters in Forensic Psychology at the University of Denver. My experience lies in severe and persistent mental illness, specifically psychotic and mood disorders. Additionally, experience in supporting clients with anxiety, depression, suicidal thinking, and family issues.
My mindfulness-based therapeutic practice integrates a body-centered approach with Buddhist psychological models. Bringing awareness to the present moment in each session supports the observation of thoughts and impulses in real time as they come up. We’ll collaborate as we gain a deeper and more subtle understanding and felt-sense of the unfolding patterns that appear. Cultivating a relationship based on trust and open communication is the foundation of my compassionate and direct method.
