Although my degree is in Mental Health Counseling, my treatment method is psychoanalysis. This means that each treatment is developed and conducted for the client in question, their specific issues and inquiries they have about their own symptom.
Psychoanalysis emphasizes on guiding individuals in finding their own resources, gaining a knowledge about what is happing to them and the cause of their distress.
My name is Corey Tolliver, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with various populations and have a diverse background including people with trauma, crisis, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship problems, and fatherhood.
During my pre/postnatal care experience, I noticed many gaps in our healthcare system & government. There is an overall lack of support for mothers in the United States.
These gaps & suffering from postpartum mental health issues, I grew a passion for women experiencing similar issues. As an attachment based therapist I noticed other mental health professionals do not know how to support new mothers without suggesting strategies that can damage secure attachments in the parent/child relationship.
Having 25 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I bring a compassionate, client-centered approach to therapy. I specialize in working with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, life transitions, and trauma. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, earned in 2001. Over the years, I’ve helped individuals from diverse backgrounds gain insight, build resilience, and develop practical tools for lasting change. My approach integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), allowing me to tailor treatment to your unique needs and goals.
Clients often describe me as warm, down-to-earth, and easy to talk to. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
